Marlana Benzie-Lourey

  • English teacher at East Central Secondary School.
  • Has been involved with Dollars for Scholars 2006
  • Involved as treasurer and in investments
  • Married to her husband, Tony, and has three children (Chelsea, Stuart, and Colton)
  • Hobbies and interests include community theater, gardening, farming, and reading
  • Is a member of East Central Dollars for Scholars because, "I am proud to be part of such a great program that has helped send so many East Central students to college.  The community has been incredibly generous and committed to the mission of Dollars for Scholars, which makes the job all the more fulfilling."

Cassie Gaede

  • Secondary Counselor
  • Has been involved with Dollars for Scholars since 2010
  • Involved as the Secretary and selection committee
  • Married to her husband John, and has two sons and one daughter (Jack, Paul & Macy)
  • Hobbies include hiking, running, scrapbooking and enjoying the MN Twins (only during their winning seasons)
  • Is a member of East Central Dollars for Scholars because "She feels as a counselor any additional assistance we can provide as a community to help our future graduates will pay off in the future."

Shawn Jansen

  • Married to her husband, Bill, and has five children (Aaron, Janna, Phillip, Tom, and Emma)
  • Has been involved with Dollars for Scholars since 2010
  • Hobbies and interests include gardening, theater, reading, and following the Minnesota Windchill ultimate frisbee team 
  • Is a member of East Central Dollars for Scholars because "It is a privilege to help make college an affordable option for deserving students, an honor to be part of such a generous community, and a joy to see the wonderful paths students take in life because of that education."

William P. Loew

  • Banker
  • Has been involved with Dollars for Scholars since 1993
  • Involved with investments
  • Married to his wife, Kim
  • Hobbies and interests include golfing and hunting
  • Is a member of East Central Dollars for Scholars because, "My goal is to see the organization reach a fund size that will perpetually provide adequate scholarship opportunities for our students!"

Deb Ludwig

  • Retired elementary teacher
  • Elected to the Dollars for Scholars board in 2015

Amanda Thompson

  • East Central high school math teacher
  • Joined Dollars for Scholars board in 2018
  • Married to her husband Ryan and has two kids in the elementary

  • Has been involved with Dollars for Scholars since 2012
